Why are you supporting TREO?

We believe Tucson needs to grow prudently and we see TREO as a partner in bringing positive, sustained growth to our city.

What is your company/industry doing to make Tucson a better place to live?

It is our neighborly duty and corporate responsibility to support initiatives that ensure the health and welfare of our community. Our industry has always been a leader in providing support to groups and nonprofit organizations in Tucson that do positive work. You will find new car dealers on the boards of many of Tucson’s largest nonprofit organizations.

Why is your industry strong in the Tucson region? What can be done to make it even stronger?

Because Tucson is so spread out, owning a car is even more of a necessity than in many larger cities. Tucson has almost always been a fast-growing metropolitan area and it appears it will continue to show substantial growth going forward. We need to promote industries that provide good growth and provide our children the opportunity to pursue a good education and a good career at home.

What is your personal passion as it relates to our economy and Tucson’s future?

Seeing Tucson get beyond the tragedy that took place last January and come together as a community. We want our community to be known for what it is – a caring, loving, extraordinary conglomeration of good people, no matter what race, religion or political preference they may be.

What are key issues this region needs to address and how can they be supported?

Transportation infrastructure and finite

resources are topics that will only grow worse if not taken seriously now. Maintaining the delicate balance between a small-town mentality and a bigcity population is a unique challenge. There will need to be compromises between neighborhood preservation and traffic management. The New Car Dealers Association supports improvements in infrastructure, new roadways, wider streets, and better traffic flow.

How do you envision Tucson 10 years from now?

Tucson’s greatest asset is its people. Tucson will always be a tight-knit community with small-town values and a sense of pride and culture. Tucson is also attuned to preserving its desert lifestyle and with the University of Arizona will continue to be a world leader in sustainability, optics, planetary study, medicine, law, business, architecture and much more.
